The course is 45 hours involving didactics and lab practice followed by a 24 hour hands-on clinical experience. The student will be well prepared with an entry level knowledge and skills for employment in the field of phlebotomy. Topics include infection control, cleanup procedures, blood and circulation system, phlebotomy equipment, venipuncture techniques, collection tube color coding, safe needle disposal, specimen transportation and legal issues.
