Tioga Downs Community Fund offers support to anti-hunger effort

Part of the popular casino's annual efforts to return thousands of dollars to the community, the Tioga Downs Community Fund awarded $17,000 to the Summer Lunchbox program provided through partnership between Broome-Tioga BOCES and the Tioga County Anti-hunger Task Force.
The summer lunchbox program was launched in 2017 as an extention of the backpack program run during the school year. More than 3,800 lunchboxes were distributed last year by volunteers in communities throughout Tioga County.
"Community supprt for this project is growing with both increased numbers of volunteers and financial support from churches, service organizatiion, busineses and private donations," said BOCES Senior Food Service Director Mark Bordeau. "As we continue to work to create awareness and support, we are requesting funds to serve as the foundation of this project."
